Ontario Courts: Updates to the Civil Practice Directions

A Consolidated Practice Direction, effective June 15th provides clarity to the rules and procedures of all regions across Ontario for the Civil Division.

The most recent amendment seeks to ensure that there is clarity, consistency across all regions, and attempts to eliminate confusion. Some key take aways:

1. The presumptive modes of procedures;

2. Filing and Scheduling for Short and Long Motions, Applications and Trials.

3. Caselines protocols; compendiums, facta, and training resources.
