The firm was established in 2018, located in downtown Toronto. MLPC is a litigation law firm offering advocacy and representation to clients in corporate and commercial litigation, real property disputes, and construction law litigation. The firm is run by M. Niki Kanavas (see about - left navigation) who provides a tailored and dedicated approach to each client case, ensuring access to justice.
Following the global pandemic closures in March 2020, the firm was open to in-person and video conferencing; however, we have shifted to appointment based in-person meetings only when essential, and otherwise carry out video conferencing or telephone meetings. In person meetings are still limited for the foreseeable future. We no longer offer on site meetings or visits without an appointment.
Consultations may be booked and are charged on the basis of either an hourly fee or a flat fee, depending on the nature of the legal issue and dispute. Effective January 2023, we no longer offer free consultations.

The Firm Policies
Clients are required to execute a written retainer agreement with the firm which sets out the parameters of the firm’s representation and the lawyer’s scope and fees.
Fee structures are based on an hourly rate for most matters, though there are flat fees for certain contracts and negotiations as well as limited scope retainers. Our fee structures are based on the parameters of the Solicitors Act and the Rules of Professional Conduct. We do not offer contingency fee agreements on any files.
Payment methods: We accept Credit Card payments (Amex, Visa, Mastercard, and Discover Card), e-transfer, EFT, and cheques.
