TORONTO REGION NOTICE TO PROFESSION AND PARTIES AND CONSOLIDATED PRACTICE DIRECTION – CIVIL APPEARANCES EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 4, 2023

Effective September 4th, 2023 - The Superior Court of Justice has made the following changes:

  1. Placeholder Motions will be eliminated. Parties must confirm with the court by filing the Notice of Motion and paying the requisite fee, 10 days prior to their schedule Motion Date in order to secure their Motion.

  2. The Court is introducing Express Court for Short Motions before an Associate Judge;

  3. Requirement to attend case conference with associate judge for any short motion for which an oral hearing is required;

  4. Toronto will introduce Calendly (currently in place in Brampton); this introduction will be province wide.
